Rainy Day Photography offers portraits of your family taken in your home, or park of your choice. I specialize in photographing children and babies. I am also available for hire for birthday parties and other family events.

WHO AM I?

I am Michelle Seeley. Originally from Massachusetts, I have lived in Seattle for the last twelve years. I have been taking pictures of anything and everything since I was 5 years old. I was raised in a family where photography was a daily activity (my father is noted nature photographer Richard Seeley) and I have never tired of taking pictures of people and the world in which they live. I have traveled extensively and have had the great fortune to be able to take pictures in many different countries. What I really love most is photographing children, and that is how Rainy Day Photography was born. After having children of my own and realizing how hectic life gets, I thought it would be a welcome idea to offer families the ability to have affordable portraits taken in their own homes, or in places they frequent and enjoy.

A PORTRAIT SESSION:

A typical portrait session will take between 1 and 2 hours. I will come to your house at a time that is most convenient for your family or we can meet at a local park. I use natural light whenever possible but do have flash equipment and also bigger portable lights for more tricky lighting situations. I take a variety of shots, from completely natural and candid, to structured, posed family shots. I find most often during photo shoots that the best shots come from letting your family guide the way. Children have a remarkable ability to guide a photo shoot just by being themselves.

My goal as a photographer is to capture a small piece of time in your family’s life, to record the brilliance of their personalities, to create beautiful portraits, and for everyone involved to enjoy the experience.
